Moana Hope has revealed the heartbreaking fat-shaming she experienced during her footballing career.

The AFLW ace said she was left 'devasted' by negative comments over her body. 

Speaking to WHO magazine, the former pro athlete revealed the impact that the bullying had on her.

Moana, 31, said: 'I was shattered. I thought 'what do I need to look like? I'm not here to model for you. I'm here to play an elite sport.'

'It was devastating but the way I see life is so different to them.

She said it was her wife Isabella Carlstrom who has been her biggest support and helped boost her confidence.
