The Amazing Race's Tom and Tyler were brutally eliminated after being given a U-turn during the penultimate episode of the series on Monday night.

Despite being arguably the strongest team, the best friends, both 23, were sent home after finding themselves on the dreaded U-turn board after they were betrayed by the other teams in their alliance.

The strapping lads shock elimination saw Twitter erupt in anger, with some fans even threatening to boycott the upcoming finale of the series.

A number of viewers fumed at the unfairness of the U-turn, with the boys, arguably the strongest team, now missing out on the show's $250,000 prize money.

'Surely it would be fair if you had to earn your way to the finale and not have everyone vote U-turn. Boys have every right to be dirty, what a joke.' 

The user continued her complaint: 'I'd rather see the 3 strongest teams not this crap.'
