Katie McGlynn breaks her silence after she is forced to pull out of panto stint

Katie McGlynn was forced to pull out of her panto stint due to a mystery illness over the festive season.

And on Tuesday, the former Coronation Street actress spoke to Lorraine Kelly about what happened - how she fainted then waking up in A&E in her Tinkerbell costume.

'I was feeling a bit under the weather but knowing me, I just powered through, didn't think about it. I was feeling off, sick and stumbly and I thought, 'This is weird' I just feel really spaced out.

'In between shows, I fainted. [It was] all a bit of a blur, it was very dramatic. There was an ambulance. I don't remember that, I just remember waking up in A&E in my Tinkerbell costume.

'The doctor put it down to exhaustion and being ill but I had a virus. I needed bed rest and I went to the doctor again and he said I needed one to two weeks.

'But I hate having a day off work. I don't sit well with it. So this was really tough for me. I loved everyone there.'

The star, 26, was performing in Peter Pan, alongside ex-EastEnders actor John Altman (Nick Cotton), at Northwich Memorial Court - but pulled out with four shows left to go.

It read: 'Katie Mcglynn took poorly shortly before the evening performance on 28th December. She is still recuperating and the doctors advice is for her to continue to rest.

'As such she will not be returning for the final performances and the role of Tinker Bell will be played by an understudy for the last 4 shows.

'We understand how disappointing this will be for those of you who have booked to see Katie and she is devastated that she is not well enough to return.
