UK singer Sam Smith promised a special performance at Mardi Gras.
And on Saturday, the 27-year-old certainly delivered when they stormed the stage while at the after party at the Hordern Pavilion.
Sam was positively showstopping in the dazzling performance, as they ascended in a red dress emblazoned with the word 'equality', which theatrically billowed across the stage.

This was Sam's first performance at the LGBT+ inclusive event.
Writing on Instagram on Sunday morning, Sam enthused: 'I've been waiting for this moment for a long time. I've been sh**ting myself all day. I love you Sydney and I love being queer x.'
Later, Sam shared a photograph of themselves alongside Dua Lipa, who also performed at the Sydney event.

Dua struck a mischievous smile at the camera, while Sam stood behind her with a smouldering expression on their face.
