Lynne McGranger has laughed off a death hoax after it was claimed she succumbed to coronavirus.

A Twitter user claimed the 67-year-old Home and Away veteran had died on Thursday, writing: '@HomeandAwayTV sad news. It's just been announced Lynne McGranger has sadly passed away after a short battle with COVID-19.'

A clearly stunned Lynne responded to the tweet on Friday, addressing the commenter directly. She admitted the news of her demise had taken her by surprise.
