Playing quarterback in the NFL most certainly takes a toll on one's body, but signal-caller Russell Wilson spares no expense to remain in peak physical condition.

The 31-year-old athlete, playing in hits ninth NFL season with the Seahawks, revealed he spends $1 million a year on his workout/recovery regiment on Bill Simmons' The Ringer podcast.

He also revealed he's spending these big bucks to help him achieve a goal that's quite rare for quarterbacks: playing until he's 45 years old.

'I probably spend $1 million if not more, a year, just on recovery,' he said on the podcast. 

Simmons commented that this whole season amid the COVID-19 pandemic seemed like it was coming together, 'by the seat of everybody pants,' which Wilson responded, 'Yeah, if you let it catch you by surprise.'

Wilson then went on to detail the high-priced 'performance team' that he has on his regular payroll.

He added that he also has a full-time physical therapist named Amy, plus, 'a full-time mobile person that's working on me, making sure I'm moving the right way and everything else.
