Mrs Brown's Boys was removed from TV schedules on Saturday night in place of Michael McIntyre's game show The Wheel.

The sitcom, which stars Brendan O'Carroll, 65, as Mrs Brown, was originally supposed to be broadcast at 9:30pm on BBC One, however was ultimately taken off the schedule due to extra time in the earlier Arsenal vs Newcastle football match.

There has been no comment from the BBC if the missed episode will be broadcast at a later date.

The show recently received its worst ratings for its annual Christmas episode in almost a decade.

The festive episode, which was broadcast on Christmas Day at 10pm, was watched by 3.8 million viewers, a significant drop from the 11 million who watched in 2013 and the 4.6 million who tuned in in 2019.
