Sunrise host Sam Armytage married millionaire businessman Richard Lavender at an intimate ceremony in the Southern Highlands on New Year's Eve.
But despite the nuptials being one of the happiest moments of her life, the 44-year-old TV presenter was carrying a secret heartbreak.
Speaking to The Kyle and Jackie O show on Wednesday, Sam revealed that a large portion of the couple's extended family were unable to attend.

Due to Covid-19 travel restrictions, Sam's sister who lives in London could not fly over to attend. Meanwhile, several members of Richard's family were locked down on the Northern Beaches.
'All of Richard's family were locked down in the [Sydney's] Northern Beaches. They tried to get an exemption, but weren't allowed out,' she said.
Fortunately, other members of Sam's family were able to make it, including her father, Mac, her younger brother, Charlie, and her sister-in-law.
Her mother, Libby, died in November after a 15-year battle with autoimmune disease.
Richard's daughters, Sasha and Grace, were also believed to be in attendance.
