Foxtel will close its Arts channel, Foxtel Arts, at the end of August.
The pay television company plans to replace it with a brand new station called Fox Docos, according to TV Tonight.
Foxtel Arts began airing in 2016 and brought ballet, live music, opera, theatre, dance, cabaret, performance, art documentaries and programs that covered visual arts, cinema, music and literature to the homes of subscribers.

While Foxtel Arts ran for five years, its origins actually preceded 2016.
The channel was originally titled STUDIO and owned by SBS. STUDIO was a replacement for Ovation in 2010, which was the original Foxtel Arts channel.
