The post came one day after Variety reported that a six-episode drama series called The Idol starring The Weeknd has been commissioned by HBO.

'I hope you guys are having a merry ole jolly time cause I sure am !!!! If I go quiet from time to time, you can catch me with this cat somewhere !!!!' wrote Britney in her new Instagram post revealing she had filmed The Idol.
Her message was posted alongside a reposted picture of a cat sitting next to a glass of wine, originally taken by a Ukrainian blogger.
The Weeknd will star amid a cast that includes Johnny Depp's daughter Lily-Rose Depp, Showgirls lead Elizabeth Berkley and Another World star Anne Heche.
Meanwhile Britney was recently freed from her conservatorship, over a month after her father was suspended as conservator of her estate.

Her cryptic new Instagram reference to her 'beautiful family' comes amid her longstanding feud with her parents Jamie and Lynn.
Since her legal victory over her father this September, Britney has accused her mother of having been the true mastermind behind the conservatorship.
She posted and then deleted a blistering Instagram post telling her mother: 'You know exactly what you did.'
Britney claimed: 'Pssss my dad may have started the conservatorship 13 years ago … but what people don't know is that my mom is the one who gave him the idea !!!!'
