Fans of the 1939 classic film Wizard of Oz can rejoice.
A reimagined version of the beloved drama fantasy which starred Judy Garland and Margaret Hamilton will be worked on by writer/director Kenya Barris, according to Deadline.
The pitch was picked up by Warner Brothers it was announced on Monday. Barris closed the deal with Warner Bros last week

Barris, 48, will be writing and directing the newest rendition of the cult classic.
Barris is an American film and television writer, producer, director, and actor best known for creating the ABC hit series Black-ish.
His writing credits include films such as Girls Trip, Soul, and Coming 2 America.
