It's soon to make its highly anticipated return to screens.

And, The Larkins series 2 trailer has teased a romance between newcomers 'dumb blonde' Reverend Ian Candy and 'really clever' Primrose Larkin, with the moment they meet for the first time briefly included.

In the teaser clip, both the vicar, played by Maxim Ays, and the pretty red head, played by Lydia Paige, speak separately to camera as they introduced themselves to fans of the drama.

Actor Maxim previously starred in the series' Still So Awkward and Sanditon, while Lydia is best known for playing Mildred Hubble in The Worst Witch and has also appeared in Casualty.

Viewers meet reverend Ian Candy for the first time, with the new character informing viewers that he's a newly qualified vicar who jokes he's 'married to God.'

The reverend insists there's room for a 'human relationship' on top of his religious ties, but admits it tends to be 'older women' who tend to like him.

The newcomer tells that he's often told his best features are his thighs, because he cycles a lot, but worries people just see him as a 'dumb blonde.'

He also admits that while his future is unknown, he feels that 'something thrilling is about to happen.'

Fans are also introduced to Primrose Larkin, who explains that she's just left, is single and is looking for someone 'to share things with'.

The red head beauty nervously admits her best feature is 'being really clever' but insists it can 'get in the way.'

Primrose also reveals that she has a whopping five middle names and jokes she looks forward to people laughing when they hear them all at her wedding.
