EastEnders fans are convinced that Lily Slater is lying about the identity of her baby's father.

Wednesday's episode saw the 12-year-old finally confess who the baby's dad was to worried to a Stacey and Jean, following the bombshell New Year's revelation that she was expecting.

Though fans had speculated about who the dad-to-be could be, EastEnders finally confirmed that the father is Ricky Junior -  the 12-year-old son of Sam Mitchell and Jack Branning.

However, suspicious viewers reckon the youngster (Lilia Turner) is not telling the truth and was trying to throw her mother and grandmother off the scent, with one fan remarking that 'absolutely don't believe Lily'.

After learning from her mother that she was pregnant, Lily refused to reveal the identity of the father, causing worried Stacey to fear that she had been groomed by an adult. 

Stacey even approached Lily's estranged best friend Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) for any information about her girl, with the youngster revealing how Lily had become somewhat of a loner at school and was not interreacting with many people. 

In scenes towards the end of Wednesday's episode Stacey was at her wits' end as she begged her daughter to tell the truth.

She even went on to accuse Ricky, after having earlier spotted Lily waving to him from the window, telling her daughter: 'If it’s Ricky just tell me.

With Lily staying tight-lipped, Stacey then enlisted the help of her mother Jean (Gillian Wright) to help persuade Lily to do the right thing and put them out of their misery.

Sitting down next to her grand-daughter, Jean told her: 'You know love, we love you very much and I am going to tell you a secret.

'You know that, you are not a child, in face I think you are more grown up than me sometimes, so please put your mum’s mind at rest.'

Finally opening up to her worried family, Lily then remarked: 'He’s not my boyfriend. We only did it once.'

The youngster then went on to confirm that the father is indeed Ricky Junior, with Lily nodding her head and saying 'yeah' when Stacey asked: 'So it is Ricky then?'

Lily then urged Jean and Stacey not to tell him, warning them: 'He can never know!' 

However, EastEnders fans have accused the teen of 'lying' about Ricky being the father, staying that she just said it to keep Stacey and Jean off her back, while others think she's covering for someone else.

Taking to Twitter, viewers shared their thoughts, with one commenting: 'Absolutely don’t believe Lily.'
