Popular music festival Groovin the Moo will be touring nationally this year, with six shows scheduled across the country in April and May.

It marks the first time in four years the travelling music festival has been able to visit Western Australia since Covid restrictions cancelled shows there.

Meanwhile, the festival, which began in 2005, has moved its Queensland gig from Townsville to the Sunshine Coast.

In a statement announcing the festival, organisers blamed the change of venue in Queensland on 'logistical challenges and increased financial pressures'.

No artists have yet been confirmed for the shows.

The concert series will begin in Wayville, SA, on April 21 before travelling to Maitland, NSW, on April 22, followed by a show in Canberra, ACT, on April 23.
