Adele Roberts praised her long-time girlfriend Kate Holderness for being a crucial support throughout her bowel cancer battle.

During a very candid chat with Lorraine's host Christine Lampard on Friday, Adele sang Kate's praises for giving her the strength to run the London marathon.

'Anybody who has been through cancer it's not you alone. It feels very lonely but it affects your family as well. I want to make sure Kate is credited because without her I would not have been able to run the marathon,' the Dancing On Ice star said gushing over her partner, 40.

'It feels so strange to me that I was able to run a marathon'.

Adele was first diagnosed with bowel cancer in October 2021 and documented her treatment on social media, which included colostomy surgery to remove a bowel tumour and having a stoma bag fitted.

Nine months after being diagnosed, and after receiving chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment, Adele was declared cancer free, and now lives with a stoma bag, which she has named Audrey.

Adele and actress Kate have been together now two decades, and happily celebrated their twentieth anniversary in February.

During her appearance on the daytime show, Adele discussed her new book Personal Best: From Rock Bottom to the Top of the World, which she described as something she is 'so proud' of.

'I thoughts (after diagnosis) if I can make it through this, I can write it all down and get my head together and do a book,' the DJ recalled.

Giving a deeper insight on her book, she went on: 'I talk about a lot of how cancer robbed me of my identity and how I got it back.

'When I look back, there were lots of times that I had been through things, not necessarily cancer.'

Just earlier this week, Adele broke down in tears as she discussed her cancer battle during a very emotional interview on Fearne Cotton's Happy Place podcast.

The TV star got incredibly upset as she admitted she 'blamed herself' when she first received her bowel cancer diagnosis.
