Katy Perry playfully hit back to the 'strong reaction' to her new hairdo as she rocked a new look for American Idol.
The singer, 39, took to Instagram on Tuesday to film her hairstylist chopping her black locks into a messy bob, which was a far cry from her sleek centre-parting and waist-length jet black hair she had at the Oscar de la Renta fashion show last week.
Fans didn't hold back after she asked them: 'thoughts, comments, concerns', before later revealing it was in fact a wig.
They told her: 'I don't like your short hair at all' and 'Girl what are you doing?'
'Girl I thought we learned our lesson.'

Katy then showed off her new edgy look in a series of snaps backstage which she later posted to Instagram.
The songstress cut a glamorous figure in a glittering black blazer minidress which she teamed with silver earrings and heels as she sipped on a can of Coca Cola.
She told them: 'You guys had a lot of strong feelings about my haircut. Let's save that energy because this is just a wig.'
