Olympic gymnast Max Whitlock gushes over to Leah

They married in an idyllic ceremony after 10 years as a couple. 

And Olympic gymnast Max Whitlock could not stop gushing about the day he made his childhood sweetheart, Leah, his bride, in what he admitted was an 'emotional and overwhelming' day that left him wracked with nerves. 

The 24-year-old gold medallist could not hide his delight as he joined his bride in speaking to OK! magazine about the day, where they also posed in their exquisite finery for an accompanying shoot.

Max has been with the beautiful blonde for a decade, when they first met at the South Essex Gymnastics Club when Max moved to the area, aged 12.

A few years passed before he worked up the courage to ask for Leah's number and eventually asked her out. Max had the ring ready to pop the question a year in advance because it was hard finding time to fit in a holiday between their schedules.

Under the influence of love, the Olympic champion booked a surprise getaway to the Lake District where he got down on one knee in a bed of rose petals on a walk. 

Now the duo have proudly walked the aisle and admit it was the happiest day of their lives with Max joyously discussing his nerve-wracking speech at the .
