Sean Hayes and Eric McCormack smooch at photo-call

If any Will & Grace fans had harbored hope that Will Truman and Jack McFarland might get together, they got a glimpse of what that might look like this week.

The actors who played them shared a smooch at a Wednesday photo-call for the NBC series, which has been revived for a ninth series after originally ending in 2006.

Eric McCormack (Will) threw his arms around Sean Hayes (Jack) who grabbed Eric's face with his hands as they passionately kissed.

Not that this signifies a real budding romance: Sean's been married to his husband Scott Icenogle since 2014, and Eric married his wife Janet Holden back in 1997.

Sean and Eric stood for photos with Debra Messing, who plays Will's interior designing best friend Grace Adler, and Megan Mullally, who'd stolen the show as Jack's best friend, the fabulously wealthy and scathing alcoholic Karen Walker.

Eric wore a pewter grey blazer over a pale purple shirt and lighter grey trousers, while Sean's black blazer clashed elegantly with his faded jeans and red sneakers.

Debra, meanwhile, wore a summery dress that featured curving stripes in blue, white, green, beige and burgundy and was hemmed just a bit below the knee.

A neat white blouse was buttoned to the top beneath Megan's red-trimmed off-white cardigan, which also featured slim black stripes matching the trousers she had on.

The photo-call over at the Universal Lot in Los Angeles featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, during which Debra and Megan got to do the honors with red scissors.

They were joined by NBC chairman Robert Greenblatt, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, Will & Grace creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan and director James Burrows, who helmed every single episode of the original series.

Red and white confetti hailed onto this group once the ribbon was sliced in two to celebrate the show, which will be back for a 12-episode season September 28.

Will & Grace had originally enjoyed an eight-season run - each season racking up more than 20 episodes - that began in 1998 and finished up on May 18, 2006.
