Rachel McCord and Rick Schirmer celebrate NYE on beach

There have been warmer winter days in Malibu.

But the fact that the temperature was a chilly 60F didn't stop Rachel McCord stripping down to a skimpy black bikini to celebrate New Year's Eve on the beach with husband Rick Schirmer.

The 27-year-old giggled as she opened a magnum of champagne, the equivalent of two bottles, as Rick relaxed on a blanket holding two glasses.

Rather than using her hands to open the bubbly, Rachel did it the old fashioned - and much more dangerous - way by cutting off the cork with a single fast swipe with a very sharp knife.

The  blogger and model captioned the snap: 'There's nothing like heading to the beach to remind you of just how SMALL you really are!

'Today was PERF! @rickschirmer and I LITERALLY sabered a bottle of champs, talked about this past year and got ready to say HIIIIII to #2018! Yasss! #letsdothis.'
