It appears Channel Nine's publicity department is trying to keep a close eye on this year's Married At First Sight participants during public appearances.
On Wednesday, cast members were under almost constant surveillance by network staffers as they attended The NRL Footy Show season launch in Sydney.
Journalists were mostly kept away from the MAFS stars, and some contestants were even whisked off by minders when politely approached for interview.

At first glance, it would appear Channel Nine were trying to avoid any potential off-screen scandals or spoilers leaking to the media.
However, the network told Daily Mail Australia that the protection was nothing out of the ordinary for such an event.
Nine's head of publicity said: 'There were publicists around everyone... to facilitate pictures, media requests, interviews etc.'
