Enlisting the help of his wildlife warrior sister Bindi, 19, and 53-year-old mother Terri, the Irwin family cradled the gator as Robert explained fascinating facts about the predator.
'My dad called them frogs with sharp teeth. He's so cute, I love him,' he said.
'He’s an American alligator - look at the size of him. They’re really nice, very cool. And you can see, they do sort of look like a frog.'
Robert continued: 'They’re really cute. But in those jaws... they’ve got really high jaw pressure.
'They’ll clamp down, they won’t let go. It’s amazing. They’re really sweet though.
