A thunderbolt through the rain at the Santiago Bernabeu gave Real Madrid a well-deserved win over Sevilla. It was Casemiro who provided it on 78 with a shot from all of 30-yards out that left keeper Tomas Vaclik with no chance. He got his fingers to the effort but they were bent back by the force and accuracy of the sensational strike.
The outstanding Luka Modric added a second in injury time - his second goal in a week - and Madrid ran out comfortable winners.
They had peppered Sevilla’s goal with countless chances in the second half but nothing could be Vaclick until Casemiro’s thunderous drive.
