Sean McVay can reel off plays and formations with a machine-gun staccato, but the LA Rams head coach was lost for words after a painful 13-3 Super Bowl defeat by the New England Patriots. 

McVay, who is the youngest coach to appear in a Super Bowl, was in charge of the NFL's high-octane offense, but the Rams could only muster a field goal against the Patriots in Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium. 

'There's really no other way to put it,' he said on a podium in the bowels of the magnificent stadium, 'I'm pretty numb right now, but definitely I got out-coached and didn't do good enough for our football team.
