Former US President Barack Obama and the New England Patriots led the congratulatory messages for the UConn Huskies, who repeated as national champions on Monday night.   

UConn became the first team to repeat as men's college basketball champions since Florida in 2006 and 2007 by taking down fellow No 1 seed Purdue 75-60. 

The Huskies won every game in this year's NCAA Tournament by double digits to cement themselves as one of the most dominant teams in recent memory.
