Rafa Benitez has revealed that Newcastle's takeover saga played a big role in his decision to part ways with the club. 

The Spaniard left after the club failed to agree a new contract with him with Benitez going on to admit a lack of vision and long-term planning from those at the top were among the reasons for his exit.

And in an interview with The Times, Benitez has explained that he couldn't commit to a team when it wasn't clear who the owner would be, various groups currently negotiating to buy the club.
