Jose Mourinho has urged Frank Lampard to show Chelsea's academy prospects some faith in his first season as Blues manager – something the Portuguese boss struggled to do himself.

The 56-year-old, who enjoyed two trophy-laden spells at Stamford Bridge as boss, also backed Kurt Zouma to shine under Lampard after returning from his loan with Everton.

Lampard is unable to bring in any new players due to the club serving a two-window transfer ban but Mourinho believes the former Derby boss can make it work in his favour by promoting players from within.
