Gerard Pique would be unknown if he played for a less glamorous Spanish side such as Valencia, according to the legendary Argentina defender Oscar Ruggeri.

The 1986 World Cup winner was quizzed on his preference between Pique and Sergio Ramos, his fellow centre back at - who Ruggeri played for for a season from 1989.

Ruggeri delivered an unequivocal - and at time self-deprecating - answer.
