sport news Man United 0-0 Chelsea PLAYER RATINGS: Victor Lindelof stars

and Chelsea played out a goalless stalemate in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

After looking vulnerable at the back in recent weeks both sides improved defensively and held firm.

Sportsmail runs the rule over both sides at Old Trafford on Saturday night...

(4-2-3-1)

David De Gea - 6

The Spaniard is looking far mor elike his old self. Not much to do - apart from saving a Timo Werner shot - but showed good handling in wet conditions.

Wan-Bissaka - 7

Has found in his form in recent games and produced another good performance. Always sound defensively but is improving going forward.

Victor Lindelof - 8

Continues to prove his critics wrong and repaying Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's confidence. If he carries on like this then calls for United to buy a new centre back will recede.

Harry Maguire - 7

Back after missing win in Paris, and produced a solid show although he got away with wrestling Azpilicueta to the ground in an aerial challenge in the first half.

Luke Shaw - 6

Boyhood Chelsea fan had a solid game and is enjoying a good run of form. Spent more of the game on defensive duty than getting forward.

Scott McTominay - 6

Solskjaer clearly prefers McTominay and Fred as his midfield anchor men and the young Scot showed why with his usual energetic and determined performance.

Fred - 6

Anothee player who is starting to answer his critics and show why he was bought in the first place. Got around the pitch well to break up Chelsea's rhythm.

Juan Mata - 6

Neat and tidy and always trying to be creative. His pass put Rashford through in first half and went close with a shot saved well by Mendy. Didn't look too happy to be subbed for Pogba.

Bruno Fernandes - 6

Denied space by Jorginho and Kanate in first half - took a risk when he swung a hand into Jorginho's face in frustration in off the incident in first half - but improved as game went on.

Daniel James - 4

Something of a surprise selection and got little joy against the double barrier of James and Azpilcueta. Needs to imrpvoe final product and no surprise when he was hooked.
