Switzerland have reached the last-16 of the World Cup after a 3-2 win over Serbia on Friday night.

Serbia looked like they might sneak through after goals from Aleksandar Mitrovic and Dusan Vlahovic before the Swiss fought back with a goal either side of the break to ensure second place in Group G.

Sportsmail rates each of the Serbia and Switzerland players on their performances.

SERBIA

Vanja Milinkovic-Savic - Produced a brilliant double save in the opening minute of the match in a moment that defined the first-half of the game. Conceded three goals though not sure he could have done much about them. 6.5

Nikola Milenkovic - Missed with a huge chance in the opening five minutes. Defensively looked shaky at times and appeared to let his frustrations get the better of him near the end. Booked. 5

Milos Veljkovic - Positionally appeared to be all over the place as Switzerland's forward players pulled Serbian defenders out of position at will at times. 5

Strahinja Pavlovic - Similar to Veljkovic he struggled to contend with Switzerland's attacking players throughout the contest. 5.

Andrija Zivkovic  - Had a couple of moments of attacking intent but similar to many Serbia players appeared to not have the same effect in the second-half with Switzerland's opening goal appearing to kill off the game. 6.5

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic - A classy midfielder on his day but the Lazio midfielder really didn't do much in the central of the park. Offered little going forward and his defensive work wasn't enough to stop the Swiss. 6.

Sasa Lukic - In a crazy opening half where there were a number of star performers on both teams, Lukic made very little impact and was barely noticeable even though he lasted the full duration. Booked late on. 6

Filip Kostic - Gave Swiss right-back Silvan Widmer a horrid time in the first-half together with Dusan Tadic. Made things happen when he was on the ball but didn't receive it as much during the second-half as Serbia's tempo slowed massively. 6.5

Dusan Tadic - Was looking on for a rating of about 9 at the half-time interval. He was floating around and causing Switzerland all sorts of problems getting two assists in the process. Second-half though he was far more ineffective but it was still a surprise to see him taken off when Serbia needed a creative spark. 7.5

Aleksandar Mitrovic - Linked up well with Tadic and Dusan Vlahovic in the first-half and looked a menace anytime the ball went into the Switzerland box and got himself a headed goal. Second-half though, again for Serbia, he struggled, and his temper got the best of him at times and was probably close to talking himself into a second yellow. 7

Dusan Vlahovic - You wonder how Serbia would have done with a fully fit Vlahovic at this World Cup. Like Mitrovic, was a menace in the box in the first-half but was taken off early in the second. Serbia seemed to lose any form of attacking threat when he came off. 7.5.
