Tottenham finally looked to put their Wembley woes behind them with an impressive 3-1 win over a dangerous side.

The win gives Spurs three points in their first Champions League Group tie but manager Mauricio Pochettino says victory means so much more.

The Tottenham boss was also pleased with Harry Kane's contribution with the striker continuing his good form with a brace.

Speaking to BT Sport after the game, Pochettino said: 'It was so important, we are so happy. I think it was such an important victory to start this way. 

'It was a tough game, the first half was so open, and they dominated with more ball, they're a very good team. But in the second half we played better, and we created more chances than them.'

Spurs were playing at their temporary home Wembley, where they had failed to win a game this season.

'It's always hard to start the new competition, and a lot has happened around the team, which is why I think this is more than just three points tonight,' Pochettino added.
