They are former captains of proud clubs either side of Stanley Park. And now ex-Everton midfielder Leon Osman and Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard have reignited their Merseyside rivalry – with a twist.
The two retired stars took on a blind football challenge alongside visually impaired footballers from both club's community programmes, as well as players from Merseyside Blind FC.
Osman and Gerrard were at the heart of their respective sides for dozens of derby clashes over the years and, despite the good-natured event, they haven't lost their tribal instincts since hanging up their boots.

'I've got nothing but admiration and respect for the blind players,' the ex-Reds captain said
'I'll never give tips to a Blue,' Gerrard said when asked if he would help his former rival. 'What I would say is to Steven (is) if he's not looking to get injured then he best keep away from me,' Osman responded.
