A convicted killer and rapist has admitted to murdering and sexually violating another woman after he was released from prison on parole.

Paul Russell Wilson, 56, walked free from prison in January 2011 after he was deemed to have a low risk of reoffending following the murder of his girlfriend Kimberly Jean Schroder in Hokitika in 1994.

Seven years later, Wilson - also known as Paul Pounamu Tainui - brutally killed life coach Nicole Marie Tuxford, 27, at her home in Christchurch, New Zealand, the New Zealand Herald reported.
