This is the terrifying moment a man stepped into a road in front of a driver and appeared to reach for a gun.
The driver thought he was about to be carjacked and accelerated, swerving past the man who knocked on the car window.
Dramatic dashcam footage shows the frightening encounter in Springvale, south-east Melbourne, on Tuesday night.
