Two men and a woman are accused of importing 480kg of ice, worth $144million, into Australia from Mexico.

The trio were arrested in Sydney on Thursday following an investigation into the supply and importation of methamphetamine from overseas, which was launched in March.

A 32-year-old Mexican woman was arrested at a unit in Burwood, in Sydney's inner west, on Thursday afternoon.

Two men, aged 24 and 22, were arrested in Rhodes, west of the CBD, at about 3.45pm and the trio were taken to Burwood Police Station.

Three search warrants were then executed at units in Rhodes and Liverpool where detectives found ice, MDMA, a pistol, ammunition, mobile phones and drug paraphernalia.
