Charles Manson follower says she STILL loves the cult leader and is 'very ...

One of Charles Manson's followers has revealed she still loves the cult leader almost 50 years after her ordered a two-day killing spree which left pregnant actress Sharon Tate dead.

Lynette Fromme, 70, said she felt 'honored' to Manson, despite him being known as the 'epitome of evil'.

Speaking with ABC the devoted Manson follower said: 'I don't think you fall out of love. I feel very honored to have met him, and I know how that sounds to people who think he's the epitome of evil.'

Fromme, who never killed for Manson but was part of his inner circle, was released on parole in 2009 after being sentenced to life in prison for attempting to assassinate President Gerald Ford in September 1975.

She said she was taken in by the infamous cult leader after falling out with her own family.

Fromme said: 'I hitchhiked to a place in Venice. I thought maybe somebody would take me in. It was dark and nobody was there, and I was sitting looking at the ocean -- and here comes Charlie.'

Manson, who died in prison in 2017 aged 83, told his followers to commit nine murders across four locations in 1969.

But Fromme insists he never ordered her to do anything in the time she knew him.

She added: 'He said, "I can't make up your mind for you." That's why I went with him. And he never did make up my mind for me. These stories that have come out about his ordering people to do things [he] never ordered me.'

But the former follower did acknowledge: 'There was going to be a revolution, and it would be violent.'

This summer marks 50 years since Sharon Tate was killed in one of the most infamous killings of the 20th Century.

The 26-year-old wife of director Roman Polanski had been eight-and-a-half months pregnant when she was killed at their Beverly Hills home.

The following night the Manson Family butchered small business owners Leno and Rosemary La Bianca, in their home in Los Angeles.

Dianne Lake, like Fromme, did not kill for Manson but found refuge with him and his followers.

The now 66-year-old mother of three said: 'They took me to this house in Topanga.
