Former AFL champion Jason Akermanis has landed himself in more hot water, this time over racist remarks made on a popular rating sports show.

AFL commentator Caroline Wilson was unable to contain her fury when she unleashed a scathing attack on the three-time premiership legend following his guest appearance on Channel Seven's The Front Bar last Thursday night.

Akermanis, who has been in the recent limelight over his bans from three golf clubs on the NSW-Victorian border, was asked on the show about his 2005 sacking from Brisbane's 98.9 FM, a radio station targeted at Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander audiences.

Fronted by co-hosts, journalist Andy Maher and comedians Mick Molloy and Sam Pang, The Front Bar thrashed Channel Nine's long running AFL Footy Show in the ratings earlier this season, which led to the recent axing of its rival program.

Wilson ended her 56-second rant with some harsh words for Akermanis.

'People don't find poor golf course behaviour funny and I'd really be surprised if you ever do land a coaching job after the lack of grace you showed on The Front Bar the other night,' she said.
