Footage of a renowned Taiwanese actress apparently face-planting on a stage has attracted millions of views on social media.

Wearing a pair of high heels, Shu Qi had carefully balanced herself on a staircase leading up to the glass stage in the rain during an international film festival.

But she fell as soon as she stepped onto the raised platform which had become extremely slippery, according to Chinese media.
