Democrats' second night debate generated 18.1 million viewers across three networks, making it the most-watched match-up in the party's history.

Tack on the 15.3 million TV sets that were tuned to the debate the first night, and Nielsen says 34.4 million homes watch the debate on NBC, MSNBC or Telemundo.

Republicans' debate in 2016, just prior to Donald Trump's election, earned 24 million watchers, comparatively.
