A 37-year-old high-school teacher who manipulated a Year 12 student into 'rough sex' during which she was crying and injured has been banned from classrooms for eight years.

The film and television studies teacher sent the 17-year-old girl violent pornographic material and had sex with her multiple times, including at her home and in his car.

The Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal found it was the worst case of misconduct they had seen and said in their judgement that the teacher showed no remorse for his degradation of the vulnerable student which emotionally crippled her, resulting in her self-harming.

'RGK manipulated the student, knowing her desire to know about the field of work of acting, and having reference to his past acting experience and training. He played on her youth, family circumstances, and lack of life experience, and therefore her vulnerability,' the judgement said.

A few weeks later, during the production of the play, the teacher pushed her up against a wall and kissed her on the mouth.

The student did not tell anybody and the inappropriate behaviour progressed to the teacher having sexual intercourse with her.

The traumatised girl began harming herself.
