A local supermarket north of Brisbane has sent shoppers into a spin after posting, then deleting, a cheeky advert for discounted Maxibon ice creams on their Facebook page.

IGA in Boondall, just north of Brisbane Airport, told shoppers to 'get high on these prices' before revealing a box of the icecream sandwiches was only $4.20 -a number associated with marijuana use.

The post was accompanied by a picture of a store worker pretending to smoke one of the icecreams like a bong.

As the picture spread around the internet, many praised the IGA for their creativity.

'This is cooked, but it's brilliant,' one woman wrote.
