A father enjoying a family fun day with his children and sister has shared an incredible image of what appears to be a two-metre tall Yowie.

Jonathan Fearne is a regular hiker around the Burragorang area in New South Wales and claims that it is a known hot spot for Yowies.

'The kids were laughing and carrying on in the pool when I saw it, so immediately I thought the kids' noise attracted it,' the 49-year-old wrote in the Australian Yowie Group Society Facebook page.

The image shows a dark object leering behind some large trees and shrouded bushes.
