Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney told a crowd in Oxford, England this week that the U.S. is actually 'desperate' for more immigrants to come to work in the country.
'We are desperate - desperate - for more people,' Mulvaney told an audience at the Oxford Union, of which an audio recording was obtained by The Washington Post. 'We are running out of people to fuel the economic growth that we've had in our nation over the last four years. We need more immigrants.'
Mulvaney's comments were in stark contrast to some of the rhetoric used by his boss, with President Trump saying during a southern border visit last April that, 'Our country is full.'
