Hermes driver hurls packages 'as hard as he can' into van

A Hermes delivery driver was filmed hurling packages 'as hard as he could' into his van by a shocked father who has claimed careless couriers 'could ruin Christmas'.

Footage shows the man appearing to take great pleasure in throwing parcels so violently they can be heard smashing into the sides of the delivery giant's vehicle.

Wayne Millin, 47, watched in horror as he recorded the man's antics from his girlfriend's flat above the Co-op in Barnwood, Gloucester, where Hermes collect parcels for their UK-wide service.

Wayne - who drives a bin lorry for a living - said that bin men don't even throw bags of rubbish into their lorries that hard.

With lockdown forcing shoppers to order Christmas presents online, Wayne is worried haphazard couriers like this one might leave children with broken gifts.

Wayne's video shows the worker grabbing the items from a trolley 'without looking to see if they're breakable' and flinging them underarm, overarm and even like a frisbee.

Wayne, from Coney Hill, Gloucester, said: 'I heard some banging, looked out the window and thought, gosh, he's launching them around.

'If you look at the video closely, you can see some of the parcels hit the back of the van and nearly fall back out. It just seemed like he was full of anger.

'It seemed like he didn't really give a sh*t about his job or care about anyone's parcels.

'I drive a bin lorry and my loaders don't even throw bags of rubbish in the lorry like that.
