A woman who claims she was raped by an Olympic hopeful on the night he dumped her secretly recorded the entire event.

Melbourne Equestrian champion Callum Buczak, 28, had been destined for Tokyo when he ditched the young rider and hooked-up with another one - Alexandra McDonough.

McDonough, 29, of Dromana, is also facing a series of charges amid claims she tried to intimidate and stalk Buczak's alleged victim in the weeks before and following the alleged sex attack.

On Tuesday, Buczak's barrister Damian Sheales told a preliminary hearing into the stalking matters that the alleged victim had taken audio of their entire encounter.

The respected barrister has accused the woman of carrying out a vendetta against his client and his new girlfriend after she was unceremoniously dumped.

'The complainant secretly tape recorded the entire evening and my client didn't know he was being tape recorded,' Mr Sheales told the court.

Police allege the rape happened on a property at Frankston on February 28, 2019 with Buczak charged after a five-month Victoria Police sex crimes investigation.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charge and will proceed to trial sometime next year.

He is also contesting a series of related stalking charges, which are the reason for this week's committal hearing.

Mr Sheales - who is already subject to an official complaint from the victim's father to the Victorian judicial watchdog - has accused the victim of 'waging war' against the couple aided by both her father and a Victoria Police detective.

On Tuesday, he told the court the alleged victim had falsely claimed McDonough had attempted to run her over.

'She went to police complaining that when she was out jogging Alex McDonough  tried to run her down,' Mr Sheales said.

The court heard the alleged victim claimed she had identified McDonough, whom had an Italian Greyhound on her lap as she tried to run her down.

'The only problem was Alex McDonough was 300 kilometres away and had a full alibi that no-one disputed,' Mr Sheales said.

'We say its just lie after lie after lie ... we say these allegations are false. They are false motivated by her desire for vengeance and other matters involving Victoria Police and the courts where she's made false allegations are motivated by the same thing.'

On Tuesday, the alleged victim's father continued to be cross-examined by Mr Sheales, who branded him a liar.

The protective father has been accused of 'doing his daughter's bidding' by helping her destroy the Equestrian careers of Buczak and McDonough.

The court heard the victim's father had a heated exchange with a representative of Equestrian Australia after he learned it would not dump Buczak from a competition to allow his daughter to volunteer at the same event.

The alleged victim had taken out an intervention order against Buczak shortly before the event.

The court heard the doting dad told the representative the decision would hamper her career aspirations as a specialist vet.

The representative later told police the father told her he wanted to beat Buczak up - a claim he denied.

Mr Sheales has accused the dad - who works as reporter on a trade rag - of using his supposed media influence to 'blackmail' Equestrian Australia, Buczak's
