Much to the relief of many punters, Stakes Day at Flemington Racecourse will be staged on Saturday - despite two Covid cases emerging from the Melbourne Cup venue this week.
On Friday, the Victoria Racing Club confirmed a contractor and patron who were trackside on Tuesday have since tested positive for coronavirus.
Both cases were fully vaccinated and not linked to one another.
The now infected contractor worked on Derby Derby last Saturday and during the Cup on Tuesday in The Arbour of the Club
