A giant emu statue that will cost taxpayers $7 million is planned to be built on the new M12 motorway in Sydney's west.
The $12 billion dual carriage highway is being built towards the city's new Badgerys Creek Airport.
One Nation MP Mark Latham has fired up over taxpayers' money being used for a project like this, and said the funding could be better used in Indigenous communities.
The proposed statue will be about 30-metres tall and is slated to represent an Aboriginal creation story.
