With a personal fortune of close to $300billion at his disposal, the world's wealthiest man Elon Musk could afford any haircut he desires, and this week the eccentric billionaire opted for a very quirky Mohawk.

The founder and CEO of both Tesla and SpaceX debuted his avant-garde new look when he was photographed landing in Miami on Wednesday night.

Musk, 50, flew in on a private jet ahead of Art Basel Miami, the exclusive international air fair known for glamorous parties and celebrity sightings, which got under way on Thursday and will run through Saturday.

The trailblazing businessman put his new 'do on full display, showing off the shaved sides of his head, topped with a shock of wavy chestnut hair running from his forehead down to the nape of his neck.
