A Texas mayor who was accused of trying to lure a 14-year-old girl for sex has resigned.
Matthew McIlravy, 42, who has served as mayor of Pilot Point, Texas since May, submitted his resignation last Thursday before a city council meeting.
He is accused of trying to meet up and engage in sex with a girl he thought was 13 according to an arrest warrant.
