The Burger King worker who blew up social media last week with his upbeat demeanor and gratitude for a goodie bag given to him by his employer in honor of 27 years of service said he is thankful to everyone - including former Saturday Night Live star David Spade - who contributed to a GoFundMe page set up on his behalf.

So far, it has netted him more than $200,000 in donations.

Kevin Ford, 60, who became an overnight star on Instagram after he posted a video thanking his employer for a gift bag he received in recognition of nearly 30 years of work without missing a single day, said he was stunned by the outpouring of generosity and now can contribute to his grandchildren's college fund - and take a well-earned holiday.

'I'd like to say it's a dream come true, but who dreams of something like this?' he said in a recent video. 'I'm just happy that everyone else is happy.'

Ford was thrust into the spotlight after a viral video showed him being given a movie ticket, a bag of candy, a coffee tumbler, lanyard and some pens as a thank-you gift for his years of dedication to the burger franchise at the Las Vegas airport.

'There are other people who have worked for that company for more than 30 years and they got nothing so I was just grateful,' he said.

The biggest thrill, beside the huge sum of money donated to him, was the attention he got from the Spade.

'When David Spade sent me money, let alone watched my video, I was blown away,' Ford said.

He said that at first he didn't believe it was Spade, who ponied up $5,000 to the crowd-funding website, but after the two exchanged messages, he realized it really was the star.

'It was just incredible. He joked with me. It just touched him. What a great guy.'
