A 64-year-old lorry driver accused of murdering a coffin maker claimed he had been having a sexual relationship with her but ended it because of the 44 year age gap, a court heard today.
Neculai Paizan is accused of beating Hungarian Agnes Akom over the head more than 20 times inside a converted shipping container in Brent, northwest London, on May 9 last year.
Paizan, who was born in Romania, stuffed the 20-year-old's body in a wheelie bin but then moved it to a park and buried it in a shallow grave under a pile of logs, jurors have heard.
Ms Akom was reported missing on May 11 and her body was not found for a month.
The last person she had been in contact with on her phone was Paizan and the last area her phone was used was by the Lennox Autos car dealership next to the shipping container.
On May 18, officers went to Lennox Autos, found the nearby container empty and began to search it. Paizan arrived as police were beginning their search.
Prosecutors told the Old Bailey the trucker was returning from a visit to Neasden Recreation Ground where he had buried Ms Akom.
Paizan revisited the site six times in the days after he dumped the body, the court heard.
